About us
Macabre Tours UK
Well the name says it all really. We provide a delightful set of Walking Tours in various cities in the UK, and all with varying degrees of, shall we say, the darker side of humanity? Our wonderful tours range from classic Ghost Tours, in both Bath and Bristol, to a more cheeky romp through the Scandals of Bath, in our only daytime tour. We also delve deep into the heart of darkness it could be said, with our remarkable Jack the Ripper Tour in London! All of our tours have been meticulously researched and are guided by highly enthusiastic and knowlegeable individuals, often in full costume and character. Our main aim with the tours, is to inform, shock, but most importantly, entertain!
Dr Blood started the whole thing off many years ago, in costume of course, with the Bath Ghost Tour, and it soon took off. A host of dubious characters soon joined him in his mission to provide highly entertaining tours, and it wasn't long before the Bristol Ghost Tour was unveiled as well as the History and Scandals tour of Bath. Roll on to 2025 and a personal favourite of Dr Blood, the history of Jack the Ripper, was launched as an exciting new tour in London with professional actors in costume, delivering the best Ripper tour available.

FAQ -Frequently asked questions
For all questions regarding specific tours-meeting locations, times and timings, length of tour, price etc, please refer to each tour's specific page.

Are the tours wheelchair friendly? - From many years experience, we've realised that the best response is unfortunately to say no. Our tours are in busy city areas, aften at night, along narrow pavements, cobblestones, dark alleyways and with regular steps to negotiate. Consequently, we cannot recommend our tours to for anyone needing a wheelchair.

Do you do private tours? - Yes indeed. We can organise private tours for all of our tours, for groups of 2 - 60 people and sometimes even more. For availability and details please get in contact via email or phone.

What happens if it's raining? - Well, we're pretty brave to be honest. All of our tours run in all weathers, unless things get extreme of course, but that is very rare in England.

How early should we arrive before the start of a tour? - We do recommend to arrive in good time, preferably aim for 10 mins before the advertised start time. For all of our tours, the guides will wait for 5mins extra only and then begin. If you are running later than 5 mins, we recommend calling us on 07972 372809 to get advice on where to catch up with the tour. 15 - 20 mins after the start of any tour however, it will be most likely impossible to estimate where the group will be, so please do make every effort to not miss the start of any tour.

Are the tours suitable for children? - Generally yes is the answer, with the notable exception of Dr Blood's Jack the Ripper Tour in London. For that tour we do recommend that cheildren under the age of 14 not attend, due to to the graphic and rather grim details that are shared upon the tour

Can we bring our dog on the tour? - Again a very regular request. We do recommend that you consider your pet very carefully. As long as your dog is very well behaved and not going to bark at all or get aggressive, then you are welcome to bring one dog only (No dogs allowed on Dr Blood's Jack the Ripper Tour). Please be aware that if your dog does become disruptive then you will be asked to leave the tour.

Do you do Gift Vouchers for the tours? - Yes indeed we do and for all of the tours. If you go to the booking page for a particular, there is a Gift Voucher icon in the top left hand side of the box/window. Click on that and you will then be able to choose the amount you want to pay etc. The recipients of the vouchers are able to choose their own date by using the code attached to each voucher, and the vouchers themselves are valid for 12 months from date of purchase.

Can we reschedule our booking for a different date? - Yes you can, if you have booked directly with us. As long as it's no less than 48 hours, you can reschedule for a different date for the same tour, there is a link to instructions on the confirmation email.

Can we change out booking to a different tour/city? - Yes indeed that is possible to do, please get in direct contact via email/phone/text etc and we'll sort that out for you.
